In recent times CBD products have gained  popularity exponentially due to their use as a natural remedy for various afflictions but in spite of their widespread use a lot of misconceptions and myths about these products have arisen which are often fuelled by misinformation and outdated perceptions.

Is CBD Scientifically approved in fixing ailments?

Sceptics have for years misled people into believing that CBD has been scientifically tested to not provide any benefit or use in treating health conditions, even though they are unable to back up these claims with concrete evidence. The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has approved many CBD based medications for various ailments for example they approved Epidiolex in 2018 for seizure disorders, this was the first CBD-based medication to get the FDA’s approval since cannabis.

 But, for now many credible resources like PubMed have published various observations where the impact of Cannabis simulants like CBD and THC has been taken into consideration. For instance, the experimentation with mixing CBD and THC actually proved fruitful in treating Tourettes.

Does CBD have valid aspects of Research?

A myth regarding CBD products that has become very popular is one which states that there has been no research done on cannabis-based products, although it is true that its difficult to perform research on cannabis due to it being a schedule 1 drug some institutes have been granted permission to perform researches on it.

 Studies conducted in various countries such as the United Kingdom, Italy and Brazil have shown encouraging results showing that CBD can help various health issues ranging from mental health to even in some cases slowing down the growth of cancerous cells.

Does CBD cause intoxication?

The most common misconception associated with CBD is that it makes you feel intoxicated or “high” due it being associated with THC (tetrahydrocannibol) but in reality, CBD and THC are separate products that have different effects while THC arouses brain receptors that produce euphoria CBD doesn’t.

Can CBD make me addicted?

One of the most popular myths involving CBD is that it is addictive this is simply not true, the WHO (World Health Organization) has declared many times that CBD shows no signs of addictive properties that can lead to a dependence potential. However, the addiction or overuse of any medication and even the eatables are always addictive and can lead to negative consequences in the form of diseases or impacting health for longer duration of time.

Is CBD Legal or Illegal?

A lot of consumers are led to believe that CBD products are completely illegal and that is yet another myth as hemp-derived CBD is federally legal in many countries including the U.S although the laws vary from state to state so one should always check their local laws and regulations before purchasing or using these CBD products.
